If you’re emotionally unavailable… then you just aren’t available. So go ahead and hang a “No Vacancies” sign up so people won’t drive by and think…”Oh, what a lovely Inn.” And they won’t bother to go in and eat at the fabulous restaurant, swim in the gorgeous pool and then get ready to settle in for a sultry siesta and hear, “sorry, No Vacancies.” Emotionally unavailable equals no room in your heart or soul to let love flourish.
I sit on a bench in the afternoon sun
reading and writing,
hoping to see you soon
My body is warmed by the rays of the sun
droplets of moisture drip down my back.
Oh, how I long to look deeply into your eyes
Suddenly trifling thoughts puzzle me…
My attention shifts to the love dance of two birds…
I’m back again and now I’m perturbed
I can’t help but wonder about your past
I’ll the women you’ve had
why none of your relationships last
I know this is really no concern of mine,
but I must know if I’m wasting my time
No doubt I could get caught up in you
This scares me to death
The thought of a relationship causes me to catch my breath
Oh, well…the afternoon is mine
to sit
think
ponder the time
wondering if one day you will be mine…
My mind races with questions of our future
Will it last? Will it end?
Did it even begin?
Was it a dream, a wish, a blissful fantasy?
Plans that did not mature
killed in infancy?
A simple day dream, or
an intense nightmare?
Am I in oblivion?
Have I lost control?
Oscillating between Heaven and Hell…
I take a smoke
sip a drink
sit back
relax
evaluate and think…
Who ever thought lust could be like this?
Everything changed by a simple kiss
Who could have imagined
our sex flowing with such passion?
When I think about the places
you’ve touched…licked…tasted
I begin to quiver…
and blissfully shiver
You ask me what I think of men?
A subject that causes me to grin :)
I must say, I enjoy their company,
BUT, I could never take them seriously
I love to feel the strength of them
their warm breath against my skin
Lying in bed alone is no pleasure of mine…
touching, kissing and whispering my favorite pastimes…
How does it happen? A look across a room, a smile and then the electric rush that can be felt between two people when they near each other? It’s like magic. Poof! A magnetic pull that cannot be divided. Two souls recognizing each other from past lives? Possibly.
Personally, I think these are the times when we should throw caution to the wind and act on our impulses. BUT, I’ve also learned that acting on impulses can be dangerous. Maybe that’s part of the draw? I just could not fathom missing out on something that could be very intense and special. I have had a few amazing first encounter meetings with different people in my lifetime. And most turned into grand relationships—at least for a little while, but that’s a different topic. It’s true though, there is a thin line between love and hate…
Obviously there’s the visual and physical attractions that draws two people. That desire to be with the person is lust. Or, is it recognition—once again the cosmic magnetic pull? The social/intellectual aspect is what adds chemistry. Lust + chemistry = FIREWORKS!! Who doesn’t like fireworks? Amazing physical and intellectual attraction, or chemistry, and a magnetic attraction are basically forces that we can not contend with, unless your just a person that avoids feeling good (missing out). These encounters are intense in the beginning, but can lead to something much more than that the initial physical pull, or can slowly evaporate into nothingness. Fizzle out. And then you’re wondering…what happened to the magic?
The crazy butterfly and fireworks don’t last forever, but certainly something deeper can evolve; especially if both parties are at similar stages in their lives, and have the same goals, actually looking to share their lives with someone. This is what LEADS to love. Initially this is a perfectly intense and out of this realm experience no doubt, but real love takes work, hard work and time—maybe some blood, sweat and tears thrown in for good measure.
Whatever one decides to call it, Love, Lust, Chemistry, it is certainly a real feeling that can’t be ignored and worth taking the leap of faith, because you never know what the universe has in store! Lots of surprises!
